How does a scovle scale work? 

Scoville heat units, also known as SHU is simply a measurement of the number of times capsaicin needs to be diluted by sugar-water. The number of Scoville Heat Units (SHU) in a pepper or even hot sauce indicates the amount of capsaicin present. The higher the Scoville rating, the hotter the pepper.

Aim: To see which is the best way to cool down the hot chillie taste in your mouth when eating chilli.

Hypothesis: I think that by using Milk I will be able to cool it down.

Equipment: 

1. Milk

2. Water

3. Coca Cola 

4. Tasting cup 

5. Chilli 

Method: 

1. You will work in groups of three for this experiment. Each person in the group will use one of the drinks with the chilli. you will then swap results in the group so that everyone has the same results. 
2. Each member of the group needs to have their own tasting cup. This will be used for putting the deffrent liquids in as we cool off the chilli in our mouths. 

3. place the chilli in your mouth 

4. after 10 seconds you will drink the liquid that you have in your cups. As you can do this you will complete a results chart 

You will be recording the following using yes or no 

1. The effectiveness of the liquid immediately 

2. The effectiveness of the liquid after 10 seconds

Method:

1.  Grab safety glasses 

2. get your Bunsen burner out

3. Place the heat mat down 

4. plug the hose in to the gas tank 

5. put the tripod on top of the Bunsen burner 

6. place Gauze mat on top of the Bunsen burner

Reminder 

1. the hottest part of the flame is the inner flame.

2. the order of lighting a Bunsen burner is is to light the match then turn on the tap.

3. where is the broken glass put? white bucket.

4. How do you stop all gas taps at the same time? the Big red button on the wall. 

5. Where is the fire extinguisher? by the white board. 

6. When should you where safety glasses? when using fire.
 

Art

 This term we have been learning about stop motion and clay making. The stop motion was about pots and pans fighting to be the best one. First we started out with flip books and then moved onto making our template and designing it. After that we started making our characters and drying them.

Wonder

 This week we watched a movie about Bullying and how it hurt a boy called Auggie. He had a big sister called Olivia, Via for short. He was picked on because of his face deformity.When he was wearing a mask on Halloween he heard his friend say that if he was Auggie he would kill himself. This made Auggie feel destroyed and sad. Here’s a quote from Auggie: The only reason why I'm not ordinary is because of the way people see me. The theme of the story is: Bulling. Hope you like my images too.

 Are Dogs Better Than Cats 

Do you want to waste your money? 

Do you think cats are better than dogs 

Introduction 

I think that cats are WAY better than dogs because they STINK and They bark, you also have to brush their fur and clean them. 

Paragraph 1 

Dogs are so attention seeking that they need all the love and they want to play all the time and it's really annoying. Like for example they need, A food bowl, 

Toys, Beds, Love, Attention, A brush, They need to go on walks, They need to be bathed, their poop needs to be picked up. 

Paragraph 2 

Cats are way better than dogs because cats u don’t have to take out on walks, u dont have to clean up after them and all they need is toys and some love and that's all. But then dogs u have to do all of this stuff for them, dogs sleep in your bed cats are usually outside the entire time. 

Paragraph 3 

Dogs run away and they never come back but cats are so smart that they leave the house and they come back. I have cats as well and they are so calm, there so quit, they only meow when there hungry, dogs bark when they hear a noise, they jump around, they also want to play all the time and they wake you up really early in the morning. 

Conclusion 

So now u know that cats are better than dogs because 

Dogs are more attention seeking, Dogs poop more and u have to clean it up, Dogs can kill people.
